Two Atco trailers were plunked down today beside the M2 property. I doubt they are for M2. Just wondering what they are doing with these trailers.

Maybe Opera in the Village??

I'm guessing opera in the village. However I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that this is a sign that construction will be starting on the ALT Hotel across the street and that the decision has been made to stage the construction offices on the M2 lot instead for simplicity.

Those trailers are right on the plaza area yes? If so they would definitely be for Opera in the Village.

Went to Opera in the Village today, and stopped by the East Village Experience Centre. They told me:
Alt Hotel - Breaking ground late August to Early September 2016
M2 - Breaking ground Summer 2017
The Hat - Breaking ground late 2016 to Early 2017

It looks like the midrise south of Verve is going to be known as Vibe. They've started taking registrations but I haven't seen anything other than what they have on their main projects page:

Midrise! I'm excited about that, more human level scale will go a long way in that hood.

I just spent a couple of weeks at Olympic Village in Vancouver, and I've gained a new appreciation for midrise projects. For me, having the tallest condo in the city doesn't matter as much as having more projects that are 6-12 floors. I would take a midrise condo in Calgary any day over something like the Guardian or any of those behemoth towers in downtown Toronto.

Looking forward to seeing more of Vibe.

Elevators end up feeling like commutes in a lot of buildings... especially if one breaks down or if there is a morning rush to get out of the building. I stayed in Maple Leaf Square (TO) for a while on the 40th floor and we would draw straws to who had to run downstairs to get coffee or groceries on the main floor. Then again, to each their own.

Walk up is perfect for me. 2-6 floors. Of course, that doesn't mean I don't like living in a neighbourhood with taller buildings, so long as there are trees and character.

Me too! I really hope the riff turns out to be a beautiful place. Not just a place to walk through and oooh and awww at, but a place to kick back, hang out and have a patio beer.

Had family booked into the Hilton shortly after the scheduled opening. They received phone calls telling them the hotel opening has now been delayed until Oct 15. Considering the goal was originally to have the hotel opened by Stampede they've really been dragging their heels on this project .
