http://edmontonjournal.com/news/local-ne...inues-into-fall-one-year-behind-schedule

Quote:
City of Edmonton officials say they are planning to give an update on the status of the Walterdale Bridge project by the end of the month.

They wouldn’t comment on the current budget or timeline of the bridge replacement, which is running a year behind schedule.

Construction started in 2013 to replace the 103-year-old original bridge. The replacement, which crosses the North Saskatchewan River to connect Queen Elizabeth Park Road and Walterdale Hill, will include a multi-use path to connect cyclists and runners to an upgraded trail system.

Construction was delayed when 42 steel arch structures were held up in South Korea, where they were manufactured.

The $155-million project is scheduled to be completed by fall 2017, with the bridge opening to traffic by the end of this year.

I am with you on this. I just don't see it opening in October.

That reminds me, what is the fine that the City ill be imposing for the delay?

I believe it's been $10,000 per day thus far, so I imagine it would continue at that rate.
