Does anyone remember what they are putting in the rooftop?
It's a common use deck or something right? I think the fitness centre was on the 5th floor?

What's the story with this largely vacant site, highlighted in orange?

Old Orchard shopping centre. It's a strip mall anchored by a save on foods.

Not sure what the plans are long term but clearly it will be home to some tall towers at some point in it's life.

Thanks LeftCoaster. I'm not too conversant with the Metrotown area and couldn't make out at all what was on that site.

Nor am I anymore. I used to be when I was a young mall rat at Metrotown but I'm almost never out there when I'm back in the city now.

Always remembered that site though, if only for it's potential.

Also that gas bar/moving truck lot across the street could use some work.

Bosa owns that site. Well not sure about the actual gas station but the parking lot surrounding it.

Yeah, it's shame that we moved in right when the crane went up to block the view, so I didn't get any great unobstructed panorama of the whole Downtown skyline. I think I could still get one from the roof on our building, which is some 10 meters (few floors) above the penthouse level. I think from there I could still see over Modello, but I don't know if I will get roof access...

The Downtown view might be unobstructed, but it's lower and the patios are tiny compared to what we currrently have. Also, definitely NOT looking to move any time soon unless we will at some point againt have to.
