That is what I thought. Based on risk, I can see the banks not overly comfortable with this project at 50%, but I was told 65-70% is now the norm?

spoke to their agent today

said they sold 10 units in last 5 days and the sales office has been crazy busy last few weeks. he says the project already reached its target sales and is a go... they are going to make formal announcement when they have their construction schedule in place.. they are intentionally keeping quiet on social media front until the make the big press release.

ITs a GO guys

he says they needed 190 of their 380 units to get funding for construction and it has been reached...

but ya I don't think we will hear much from them until the formal announcement... I think it makes news that much bigger that's why they not really saying anything on social media

The agent is being very... "untruthful".

The line he is feeding you is absolute and utter nonsense. Any developer with the said sales momentum would not be keeping it quiet - they would be leveraging the hell out of it to help sell the remaining 190-units.

So ask yourself... if its true the banks are requiring 65-70% how can it also be a go at 50%?? Trust me this sales agent is not a reliable source for this type of information.

but I don't know go to the sales office speak to one of the agents yourself see what they tell you... I mean I don't know what to believe right now.. I think their sales are going so strong right now maybe they don't feel they want to make any official announcement until the construction schedule is made

Sales agents will say anything to make a sale. I remember a few years back talking to a lot of sales agents on condos. Told sky2 would be ready for occupancy about 2 years prior to when it actually was. BGBX on Wall Street would be complete fall of 2012. The last time I was by there I only saw two of the 4 buildings up. Take anything a sales agent tells you with a grain of salt.

There was some excitement as Skycity approached the 50% mark, although apparently they'll still need to sell another 70 or so units before we can pop the corks and start looking forward to construction.

I sure hope there are a lot of potential out of town investors with money burning a hole in their pockets, because otherwise this could take a while.

Where did the 65%-75% number come from? Is that more internet speculation? Sounds like tons of speculation with the only information coming from the sales agent. They had said about 190 units before, or 50%. So why did that change now?

they have over 190 units sold in 8 months they don't plan to start construction until February.. they are way ahead of schedule in terms of sales all u naysayers need to calm the hell down... 190 units would of sold out a 30 story tower in this city.. this thing is going to move forward like It or not.. they have hundreds of projects under their belt and you guys hone in on the ones that ran into financial problems.

At some point people need to give them a bit of credit. As littlewayne alluded to, they've sold 190 units in a town where that is unheard of. They could build a Glasshouse scale tower right now with those sales.

They said this many units would make a go of it. Now they've reached that goal and "ohhhh well it's probably BS. They most likely need 65-70%." Okay well nobodies said anything about that.

they were at 165 - 170 sold in beginning of july

they are at about 190 now

so they sold 20 - 25 units in last 6 weeks..... apparently some investors scooped up all the cheapest condos 204 -210 range. the albert plan is all gone
top 4 floors are all gone

I hope you're right lilwayne, but what the recluse said certainly is plausible when you consider the various factors here.

I mean, if 50% was enough to trigger construction you would think Skycity would be shouting it from the rooftops, since you can bet that the sight of shovels in the ground will probably sell more condos to anyone who was on the fence.

Maybe they're preping for an announcement in the near future on the project. Nobody knows. Maybe big Ben Myers will pop in here for an update.

^ Either way, lilwayne has a point... 190 units sold downtown is a remarkable feat. They have basically sold enough to fill something like this 200 unit tower in London, ON:

It may not be Skycity, but I don't think anyone would mind seeing something like this rise on Graham Avenue.

that's all I heard when dcondos was going through their thing same with any other project that comes this way

190 units sold in 8 months is an impressive feat

quit naysaying there is absolutely noway this doesn't go forward based on the sales figures... even if it only sells 30 more units in the next 6 months this things is going forward

it can sell 5 units a month for the next 6 months and this is stil moving forward.... that's like one unit a week

and this thing is still moving forward.. that's all I'm telling you guys... the negativity on this site like the numbers aren't enough for ppl oh it needs 60 - 70 percent sold like are you kidding where do they come up with this crap

within 2 years this building will be sold out.... let me tell you fukk sakes
