Haha... reminds me of the NFL seeking volunteers to assist with grunt work at the Super Bowl. Minimum 33.5 hour commitment, you don't get paid, and you don't get to watch the game in person.

It looks like two cranes are preparing to lift the City of Regina sign to attach to the underside of the Maxtron. Based on the virtual venue, it will have the SaskTel logo on the opposite (field )side.

Seems whack but what is even worse is that they probably got all the volunteers they needed.

Took a drive past the stadium last night - no sign of the perforated siding starting on either the NW or NE ramps.

Maybe the perforated siding isn't needed for "substantial completion", and will be put up later in the fall?

Regarding the netting behind the end zones: another reason to have it is to practice field goals from varying distances. Makes it a lot easier to retrieve balls that might otherwise go flying into empty stands.

I've always thought of it as a safety thing. Lord knows that someone might get pegged off by a ball and sue.

The city said many months ago that the cladding in each north corner would be one of the very last things completed as they are the only large access points remaining to each grandstand for large items like concessions hardware, A/V tech, etc. Many times over the last few months I've seen them lift things to the top ramp. Putting this job at the end is purely for convenience

That said, I'm lucky enough to get a full tour Thurs evening, I'll post a report following.

If you’re partier, the south end zone is for you. In front of the large scoreboard, it has space for 1,600 people standing on five terraces. A concrete pad behind it acts as a “fun zone.”

That would put the capacity at 34,600

I had not heard that previously. I was under the impression that the south end zone standing room area was included in the 33,000 total occupancy. As I say, this is my understanding, which certainly could be off base. Perhaps someone with more knowledge of the topic can provide more accurate information. An extra 1,600 loud and proud Rider fans is never a bad thing on game day at NMS.
