Nice. It seems like any building in the Quebec City region is at least 25% more refined and elegant than if it went up anywhere else in the country.
Agreed. Here it'd have some forced, gaudy heritage element if it was downtown. If it was built in our equivalent of where this is in Quebec City, it'd be absolutely awful.

The Snowbirds stopped in on their way to and from St. John's for an airshow last week. This meant we were treated to a little impromptu display, and that was fun. These photos were posted online via the YJT facebook page.

Last night I got few free tickets to go see UFC Fight Night on Rogers Arena. I have never been to an UFC fight and it was an interesting experience. Here are few cell phone shots from the event.

All in all, and interesting experience and a good show.
There are many great areas, but I would also call New West my favorite urban area in Metro Vancouver (more than downtown). If I move back to Van, New West is where I would like to live.
I also love the mall, I know some hate it but for me it has a really neat blend of what I would call modern urban Asia and steampunk Gotham that really works for me.
New Westminster is Canada's most anonymous big urban downtown. It almost defies reason that a place which looks like that can have practically no identity at a national level.
It really is spectacular. I could live in that soft yellow building in the first few pictures, and I don't often get that sensation for Vancouver for whatever reason. Gorgeous pictures!

New Westminster is Canada's most anonymous big urban downtown. It almost defies reason that a place which looks like that can have practically no identity at a national level.
It lives in the shadows of Vancouver and (to a lesser extent) Burnaby. It's a top notch downtown though. The improvement in the past 10-15 years have been huge. Downtown New West used to be pretty rough at night.
Speaking of downtown, wasn't there a 500ft tower proposed or in the pipeline at one point?
