Wow Mayfair north actually looks pretty damn good

There's still a few things I think could have been better with Mayfair, but it's turning out to be a decent add

Liking how WSP is turning out so far, with that and professional building vs. the Mayfairs, I'd say Procura's strength is in creative renos over new build. would be interesting to see what they could do with some of the city's soon to be vacated office buildings..

haven't seen it in the skyline yet, but really like Hendrix from ground level, hope Grandin gets few more solid infills like it

can't help thinking five oaks would look better without the stepback, but it and norquest are really helping the warehouse wasteland. unfortunate the other projects nearby have all been parked for now. 108 st in particular could really use some life

Wait until the buildings start breaking 40-storeys...that's when most people will realize the true scale of the project.

Re: Mayfair - the only thing I don't like is the stucco band along the top of the commercial podium. It really sticks out poorly.

I too like how the WSP 'reimagine' is coming along.

We're getting better with podiums - Ultima, Enbridge, COE Tower (from what I can see) are good examples.

Yea there are some, it is more with the residential but Ultimo is very nice.

Infill isn’t new to Edmonton. But with more people craving a connection to the core, interest in infill development has accelerated. So how do we build new homes on existing lots while maintaining the enviable character of our mature and established neighbourhoods?

Let’s Talk Infill is the fifth event in the Great Ideas. Great City. Speaker Series. It highlights Edmonton’s first The Infill Design Competition and brings together the competition jury members: Brigitte Shim (Architect), Larry Beasley (Planner), Ken Greenberg (Urban Designer), Anne Cormier (Architect) and Shafraaz Kaba (Architect).

The Infill Design Competition is a response to the challenge of designing new homes in our mature and established neighbourhoods. It is a competition of ideas exploring what great infill design might look like and mean for our northern city. (Competition winners will be announced in October 2016).

While the jury members are gathered in Edmonton to review the 200+ submissions, we wanted to invite the public to a round table involving the jury as they share their thoughts on quality infill design and its relationship to existing neighbourhoods. The round table will also include a Q&A with the audience.

Councillor Scott McKeen and Peter Ohm, the City of Edmonton's Chief Planner, will provide welcome and opening remarks.
