I agree with Jebby, to be honest. The idea of clusters of Totem poles is worn out. I respect them, like them, but am sick of them. My first response was sort of Politically Correct.............

What about stylised totems (could be local native) but all chromed and reflective? Those should be cool. Better still, a totem pole from every culture all bunched together and chromed, reflecting each and every one of us as we walk by.......

A more important issue here is whether or not the new real estate tax is going to negatively impact (slow down/alter) the Amazing Brentwood project. That would be unfortunate because the metro Vancouver area does need these kinds of urban energizing projects.

I think they are past critical mass.

3 towers sold out, 1500 residents, new towers in progress around Brentwood.

By all accounts this should go well.

How the 4th tower sells - that will be interesting to see.

Well I doubt it will speed things up, but I don't think it will have a major effect. I would expect it to sell a bit slower but still quite well.

They will sell "Tower5" next spring.

But really, it will be fourth tower.

Lets give an optimistic week a standard floor plate, thats roughly 52 weeks right there.

They still haven't reached standard floor plates, and in fact need to complete the amenities floor, etc.

Lets give that a month.

So;

- Start standard plates October 2016
- Top out October 2017
- Glazing finishes say December 2017
- 6 months for interior finishing?
- Finish around end of Summer 2018?

Throw in a delay or two, plus the fact retail is being prioritized and End of 2018 doesn't seem unreasonable.

The steel structure for the curved top floor of the mall is being installed.

Looks absolutely massive so far.

The steel columns have to be a good 40ft in height - this is going to be insanely impressive in person.
