^ I think there's probably more than enough room on the roof to accommodate a club lounge with washrooms or some such if TNSE ever builds a suspended loge seating area. It's only tight for space when it comes to adding actual seats to watch events.

Yeah ive always envisioned a big set of stairs with an escalator leading up to the "400" level right across from the current set of stairs that lead up to the 300's. And you are right there is enough room on the front end of the building to build a club lounge and all concourse space needed for 300-400 patrons

Rogers is looking great. Those are some fantastic shots.

Regina's Brandt Centre has a substantial scoreboard - definitely NHL-calibre.

True North does not have to worry about the cost benefit analysis of minor/semi-major expansion plans (ie adding loge seats below the trusses) as they are subsidized by the taxpayers of the city and the province to the tune of 6 or 7 million per year for improvements to the MTS Centre. They cannot pocket that money, they have to spend it on the arena and that's what they have done these past five years...probably $30 - 40 million in improvements at this point.

-2 million in 2013 they expanded the washrooms in the lower level by 25% and they added the new sound system and the big MTS tv in the concourse and i remember reading about a family room for the players for pre/post game

-6 million in 2014. This was the concourse expansion/clubs and washrooms in the 300's, new sound system and new jets store

-12 million in 2015 media room, Jumbotron,power ring,loge seats, seamless glass and suites renos

-?? in 2016 again new glass (to replace the "seamless"), arm rests, new seat covers and cushions, 350 TV screens and apparently a secret surprise at the top of the 300's

True north 20/20 is slated for 40 million in upgrades by 2020 so were only 25-30ish into that so more to come

They have scratched quite a bit off my wish list but a few more

-updated locker room with big Jets logo on the ceiling like buffalo and Pittsburgh
-Interior bowl paint, I absolutely hate the beige above the 300's and below the suites (also new section markers)
-Some kind of loge seats added up top like discussed earlier
-main atrium utilized better
-Concourses updated
-Interior LED lighting sytem which wont happen for a long time

A few photos of the new 9,000 seat downtown Moncton Events Centre from this morning:







I like the last two photos. They really show how the profile of the city will change for those people driving southbound on Highfield Street. A real urban landscape is starting to develop.

The building is also beginning to fill in, with the partial installation of the pre cast seating sections and the installation of some interior partitions.

I'm hapyy for moncton but I'm also disappointed they decided to keep with the circus tent theme. ugliest arena in canada by far.

Less cartoonish colour palette, larger entrance foyer and larger windows overlooking the public plaza.

Further to the above, Budyser (one of the Moncton forumers) posted some neat drone pictures that he took of the construction site in our section. Here's a couple of them:





In the second photo, the side of the arena facing the observer is where the corporate boxes and the club lounge will be installed, hence why the seating section on that side doesn't go as high as around the remainder of the arena.

The expansion of the press box in 2010-11 was funded 50-50 between the private and public sector.

The cost of all those other upgrades were funded entirely by the annual subsidy given to the team or nearly so.

This is certainly better but it's gone the way of the tin shed fad like Edmontons. I don't think they will age very well. A lot of new stadiums/arenas just look like a big blob of nothingness.

I feel like this was the original tin shed blob but I could be wrong?
