I wonder how connections will from from YEG. Should be quite the competition into China...out of Vancouver.

Most likely Westjet will workout some sort of an interline. They tend to have an agreement with all non Star Alliance international carriers at YVR.

That implies his issue is with his own consumption of alcohol & not those that imbibe it. I know for myself that as a non-drinker that the reason I generally avoid bars & such isn't because I don't like to drink, but rather that I don't like hanging out with drinkers/drunks more.

Oddly enough I just got offered one of those cards w/ zero fees for the first 3 years.

I'm well sorted for credit cards already but since it's got some lovely perks perhaps I'll snag it while it's gratis & just use it for the perks.

Indeed. But with all the automatic passport stands at US airports now - even Nexus is becoming almost redundant.

I don't know what the issue is. American Express has a special deal in Toronto with Pearson for AMEX Platinum. Special lounges, fast-track through security etc.
