For Edmonton, why would the seats retract so far back? What sorts of configurations would be larger then a NHL rink? The Rodeo?
First time I have seen such a aggressive retract with seats for a arena.

I see PNC arena in carolina and Tampa have already added a ton of loge seats.
Further more what does this mean for Winnipeg,Boston,San jose? With no real room to build more premium seating? That's a real disadvantage

California stadium projects move slow as mud. For a market like Anaheim just getting people in the seats is good enough.
For the dated Honda Center you start talking big renovations and you might as well blow up the place and re-build it, or heavily renovate it like MSG.
Just like the Ballpark I don't see the Ducks or that arena going any other place so maybe a big renovation is in the cards but it would be any time soon.
When was the last time we even heard of San Jose or Anaheim complaining about their dated arenas? Public money is non-existent in Cali for Stadiums so many owners just keep their mouths shut there (except in Oakland). If they don't got the cash they don't bring it up.
