Whatever the schedule for the redevelopment of the Denman Hotel & mall, Shoppers has taken the corner unit at Nelson/Denman (where HSBC was before it moved over a few spaces) renovating/adding to its existing store

Finally! This has always been the plan, in conjunction with the HSBC Bank moving. Took their sweet time getting this underway.
Fifteen months later it looks like the protective temporary roof over Christchurch Cathedral is starting to come down. I look forward to getting a good look at the new roof.

Finally!! I talked to someone who worked there and she said they were having issues getting permits etc. they have been actively working on getting this started ever since hsbc moved out
Renovated Westin Grand Robson St. entrance.
It used to have a more traditional look with marble mouldings framing the doorway.
They seem to have added a couple of plinths for the planters flanking the doorway.

Pic by me today.
I think the planters are added to prevent the homeless from sleeping in front of the hotel, which is plaguing Tim Horton's next door. Vagrants are often seen in front of the liquor store as well.
In the 2015-built two-storey at Denman/Nelson (1001-1015 Denman), Anytime Fitness has taken the top floor and Bosley’s is working on what appears to be a double unit (1009 and possibly 1111 Denman)
It's more than a shame .... it's almost criminal. At any rate it's a COMPLETE travesty of all this open space, views, etc, that the city is always touting.
