Roberto Pupa, owner of 706-10 Sansom St., said he had no agreement to sell his property and knew nothing about Toll's plans.
"They mentioned something, but there was no offer," he said. "I walk up and down the street and make offers to everyone. It doesn't mean anything. Zero."
They must be partnering with Blatstein on this one.
"City records do not show any of the properties as having been acquired by Horsham-based Toll......"
"Questions also remained over the timing for the buildings' demolition, set to be considered by Department of Licenses and Inspections permitting staff by Sept. 1."

If Roberto Rupa is saying he never had a legitimate offer, and that he knows nothing about Toll's plans, then how is it that Toll is applying to demolish the properties? What he is saying can't be accurate.

This all just seems unnecessary. I think it goes without saying that most or all of us here are pro-development. But even if they work with preservationists, any replacement will just be a cheap imitation of the present structures and there is no shortage of lots in that area to build on. The city really needs to do something to disincentive parking lot uses when there are more viable uses for a property. There is a large lot at 8th and Chestnut. Who owns that? I know it's PPA-operated.
I've been in Philly for the past couple of days and I'm amazed by all the construction and new skyscrapers going up. This has to be one of the biggest booms the cities ever seen. Pittsburgh pales in comparison unfortunately.
Airlifting to the top of the Beneficial Bank building.
I looked out my apt. window to see a helicopter hovering between skyscrapers downtown. I took a few picks from my window and then walked down to check it out. I couldn't get any pics of them airlifting the AC units from the flatbed trailers since I was on my way to my Mormon Temple tour at 8 AM. Here are some pics from 8/13/16:

Walked past the new Mormom Temple last night and it's incredible. Can't believe it's a modern building. Looks like it was built in 1910. For sure one of the best historically accurate new buildings I've ever seen.

Take the tour, dude. It's even more absurdly opulent inside.
