This is the same plan, trust me!
I know exactly what you are talking about. That was not a plan in any concrete terms, it was a project showing a possible future reworking of the area around 30th street station. It was an entirely conceptual project that had no announced starting date. I also don't believe it was 15 years ago. I remember attending a forum that I believe led to the creation of that preliminary concept that was displayed inside 30th street station. I was still at Temple when I attended the forum which at the earliest took place in 2005. So it's more like 10 years ago.

The project has just recently moved out of the conceptual phase and a somewhat concrete plan was announced just months ago, with the first aspects, the creation of a green space next 30th Street Station and a rehab of the Bulletin building slated to begin next year.

Just because a plan has been kicking around for a few years, doesn't necessarily mean it is "behind schedule." For that to be the case, a start date would need to have been announced and there was certainly no start date associated with this entirely conceptual design. This project is in no way "behind schedule."

Sometimes I get the impression TechTalkGuy is some kind of upbeat topical web bot.

No, I am a real individual who has been fascinated by skyscrapers well before the old Gentleman's Agreement was successfully defeated by the late Willard G. Rouse, III.

That is my fav skyline view yet!
The stretch of towers spanning across the Schuylkill River looks seamless in that shot!

Too bad you can't just stand right there, setup with a tripod and capture it without distracting yourself from driving.

Well, you could wait for the next DNC, or Black Lives Matter protest to come to town, with their protesters. They're good at stopping traffic.
Then you can set up all of your photo equipment, and have a ball!!

Great shots summer!!

With all due respect to the CITC, this is by far my favorite new skyscraper in Philadelphia. I want to see more west of the river! And more on the river!

I don't see a christmas tree yet....

This tower is amazing so far, and has real presence. Definitely excited to see the final lighting scheme too.

—? WHY, oh WHY? Do people enjoy littering our roads and streets in Philly?? Who threw the potato chip bag out of their window, or just threw it on the ground?
The street where I live in Port Richmond is a trash can too. People who drive down my street, have thrown "Happy Meal" trash from McDonald's or Wendy's.
People just don't care anymore. Sad.
YES, that's right...I said WENDY'S!!!

PS: Nice photo!

It's certainly looking like it. I don't see any indications that the steel will rise any further. (Darn)

Summers: Great Series of photos!

If it were possible to wake up Ed Bacon from his grave and show him a city without his silly Gentleman's Agreement!
