I have a question about this picture.

From past articles on the redevelopment, I thought that all the precast panels were to be removed. Is this the case? Where the cladding hoist is mounted, are all the rectangular precast panels being removed? Or are the composite metal sheets going directly over the precast panels?

From what I can tell nothing has been removed. Only covered by blue skin.

The first few pieces of aluminium cladding have gone up and they are black. Which I think could look really nice. We don't have any big black towers.

Amazing - thanks again Jonovision.

This is one of the most interesting projects in the city, in my opinion. It will make a dramatic change to the skyline, and it will be relatively quick.

Huh. Did not expect that at all.

I think the Maple could have looked really nice if they cladded it in black.

Does anyone have any photos of the original construction of Fenwick from the late 60s and early 70s?

I'll do my best to keep it updated. It is fairly prominent, so lots of good vantage points once they get a bit higher up.

Cladding will start in November and should take about 12 months.
