Wow, I'm a big fan. Build that exact building 10 times in Vancouver. This Shigeru Ban is going places.

An update on nə́c̓aʔmat ct.

Out of passive-aggressive curiosity, I wonder where is the hue and cry about Vision and Gregor and the war on the car with respect to Jim Deva Plaza?

Really no net loss in navigable streets here. They opened up the adjoining cut-de-sac immediately south of Jim Deva plaza on Bute to accommodate lane access and access to Bute Street from Burnaby Street.

Exactly. Most posters on this forum aren't anti bike lane so much as they hate having their car lanes removed. There was no real loss here, just like there was no uproar on the Beatty st lane implementation.

Well they did reduce davie to one lane east bound. Not a huge inconvenience, only issue is if a car is turning left you can't go around them anymore so that could be a bit of a bottle neck. Hopefully they put a left turn restriction although I doubt it

Or if someone is crawling along at 10km/h, which happened to me the other day...

I liked the way the plaza turned out, just too bad that yellow post is required to stop any clueless drivers

Is the curb setup like that to provide emergency vehicle access? They wouldn't probably need a post if there was a regular curb.

Rezoning application for the Covenant House sites:

530 and 575 Drake Street (Covenant House)
http://former.vancouver.ca/commsvcs/planning/rezoning/applications/530and575drake/index.htm

I'm tired, so I'm just posting the link. Hopefully someone will be able to post the details. Cheers!

PS - Love how Jim Deva Plaza is turning out. Thanks for the pics!
