Had dinner with my family at Chartier in Beaumont last weekend. As the name suggests, it's a French restaurant and I'd highly recommend this place if you happen to be in that town. Very nice staff.
We shared a charcuterie plate and and poutine - both were good.
For drinks, I had a glass each of Red Racer IPA and Dandy In the Underworld Sweet Oyster Stout. Both were in 650 ml bottles and I shared them with my dad and stepmother. The latter is a pretty heavy stout, but still good.
For the main course, I had beef bourginon. This was quite tasty, but make sure to come on an empty stomach, as the beef portions are pretty big! My dad had the same thing, but my stepmother had duck grunt. Weird name for such a dish, but it's roast duck slices topped with grunt, which is a kind of compote, and is normally eaten as a dessert food in the Maritimes and New England. She said was quite good as well. My brother had a steak or something, can't exactly remember.
As for dessert, we didn't order any (I don't usually eat dessert anyway and I was pretty full anyway).
