If you think of it, this is probably the worst solution that could have happened.
Costco is moving out of the Mapleton area, leaving a big retail gap there. (While we mostly agree that staying is out of the question, it is a loss that will be felt)
As someone else pointed out, that area is shifting fast from Industrial to Commercial; which means D&R isn't going to want to stay there much longer. They'll have a move soon as well, which will leave a large, contaminated gap in the Mapleton streetscape as well. A spot that will probably be difficult to fill/sell. Even if D&R isn't contaminated, it is still going to be 2 big empty spots along Mapleton basically.
I wonder if negotiations are going to go on between D&R and Costco right up until the last minute? 10M$ vs 6M$ is a big gap to close, but the location would be best for Costco if they can snag it.
