Large portable crane down in the pit right now. Assuming the tower cranes are going in today.

I really hope they don't mess up the true north square project they need to have huge meeting space area where the hell would a 5th building go..

chipman don't be an idiot... increase the height if anything...
I agree. Build them taller if there is an increase in the demand for space.

Is the need for the fifth tower for office, hotel or condo space? Or is it a combination of all?

Ahhhhh, the old crane building a crane technique. I always loved that move.

I'm actually in favour of another new building, especially if it fills an empty space.

I'm in favour of the height increase if the demand merits it, but I'm also not opposed to adding a new building to fill in empty space, as long as the public open gathering space is not sacrificed.

Without the benefit of seeing two different plans to compare, I think I'd prefer the height increase. I don't think the original TNS plan really leaves a lot of open space that needs to be filled... I think I'd rather see a few more storeys on the planned buildings vs. another tower jammed in.

That said, I'd change my tune if a new tower were to be planned for the NE corner of Carlton and St. Mary on the church-owned vacant land. I'd love to see that gap get filled in.

Took another look at lunch. doesn't look like any tower crane sections have arrived, just multiple pieces of a large jib that is now attached to the mobile crane.

I see smaller yellow crane like sections at the back of the property close to the church.

Height/scope posts of TNS project moved down from SkyCity Thread...either way a few floors to the 2 planned towers(I and II) seem the cheapest and most sensible solution at this point...Cam? Think they're gonna surprise us and turn it back on and it'll be wow, the cranes are moving upward....lol

Haha, ah yes. I had walked by through the MTS Centre skywalk and snapped a quick photo just now. But this works better!

So indeed it was the jib on the end of the mobile crane. Trickery!

I'll assume this is for erection of the tower crane.
