They're going to be expanding transit service to games next year. Highlights of the article:
-starting service 45 minutes earlier (so 2 hours 15 minutes before game time)
-adding another pickup/drop off location downtown
-free service (currently $3 each way)
-you can get on at a non-designated stop (or Paratransit) for free by showing the driver your ticket

The downtown stop should be good for people staying in hotels downtown and great for businesses

Sewn in does not mean it comes like that. You can watch installations where they set up the field, set up the markings and then sew them in.

The screen in the Northeast corner means that the other side is a large blank wall. I wonder if anything would be hung there? For example, Grey Cup banners or retired numbers.

Another question. Where would the TV cameras be set up in the stadium?

Final question. At night you can use the east construction camera to look through the glass and into the lit up club area. Does substantial completion not also mean that area is being finished? Besides the pillars and staircase, there isn't much going on in there.

I did not expect that "party deck" area to be like that. I was expecting more of a "standing area" found in most European Football Stadiums. I don't know how I feel about those stairs accessing each deck level, to me they are aesthetically unappealing (from that photo at least). But I will reserve final judgement until that whole area is complete.

Overall this stadium is looking good. Can't wait to see a game there.

The top (main concourse level) could be a true party deck. the tiers will be similar to the photo, but there will actual drink rails.

It seems there are weird codes around those types of things in Canada. Well at least local to Winnipeg. Some issues with having large, stepped areas like that with no railings. Maybe not so in Saskatchewan.

At CMHR, they have something similar outdoors. They have these silly railing and steps on the side so you can walk up there "safely" Piss off already. My biggest pet peeve is the coddling..

I'd agree in general for 6-inch incremental steps, but in Regina's case each level appears to be around 6-8 feet in height...so you definitely need rails on the fronts.

It appears that the turf is in 5 yard wide rolls with the yard line sewn in on one end:

According to Field Turf, it only takes 3 days to unroll the rolls, so we should have a full field, ready for sewing, by the weekend.

Right, there is definitely codes that will require that, I just assumed maybe those initial "steps" were going to have more levels within each?

Seems like by having only a few tiers they have limited how many people can actually be in that section at a time. I mean there is only so much rail room to stand against. Unless there is going to be a raised seating platform (w/ lounge/bar tables) against the walls on each level? I dunno

Yeah the lines are already on the rolls. After everything is laid out, they will bring out numbers and those lines... um hash marks? and any other markings. Once they are measured and laid out, they have a machine that sews them into the turf.

I can't wait to see it! Hopefully that new OxBlue camera on the roof, showing the field, is online soon. The East one is "completed" and not showing anything new.

To me, it is not the stairs leading down to the standing areas that is aesthetically unappealing, but the ugly concrete walls. Hopefully they cover those walls with something such as tiles, or even paint, that can be cleaned of any graffiti and grime (vomit, spilled drinks, etc). I would assume the railings will have a kick plate to prevent someone from kicking things such as partially-filled drink cups onto the people, or end zone, below.

I agree with you on that as well. I'm sure they will come up with something to make it more presentable. It is a section that definitely stands out (no pun intended) as something different so I hope it looks good when finally complete.

Yup. Screwed for FIFA international matches. Would have to replace the turf.

At IGF they scrubbed off the lines. Some were faintly visible
