Yes a CASE worker confirmed that they had poured one caisson as of yesterday. 72-74 total planned.

I've got a building with this type of foundation and every contractor that's seen it (including the water proofing guys who are a LOT of foundations) refers to it as a "rubble" foundation. Just thought that was an interesting term. I guess they used scraps from quarries or other stone working operations for the foundations.

Yep, though you may have to add a few to that as there are a few that are U/C that aren't listed there and a few that might be site prep that aren't in that status yet - or will be within a week or two (i.e. 311 W Illinois probably going U/C very shortly).

alright, this is a good reminder to get the page 1 list update. i'm up to my eyeballs in babyland these days, so A LOT of stuff that happens gets by me.

to all: please post any additions and corrections that need to be made to page 1.

Not scraps exactly. "Rubble" is a term of art referring to the shape of stones, it doesn't refer to waste. The masons just didn't put very much time and effort into dressing the stone... these are essentially "raw" from the quarry, maybe with a few hammer blows knocking off projections to make them roughly square. The stacking depends on a lot of mortar to hold the wall together.

If you wanted a finer appearance, you would have the masons continue to work the stone until it had flat surfaces and sharp corners, then you've got ashlar. If they really work at it, the stones become so precise you can dry-stack them with no mortar at all.

This is the kind of stuff architects don't really discuss anymore...

State and Huron seems to be digging cassions, so I would think that's "Under Construction."

720 N Lasalle is topped out.

215 W Hubbard is in site prep.

30 East should be moved to under construction.
Polk + Financial? = 801 S. Financial is under construction
625 W. Adams poured caissons and is under construction
165 N. Desplaines, do I even see it on the list? Under Construction.

171 N. Aberdeen had alot of equipment on site. I don't know if it is sit prep or under construction.

3Eleven should be under site prep.
1411 S. Michigan received a demo permit and should probably be under site prep.
