Council currently discussing CNIB. Sounds like it will be supported overwhelmingly.

Listening to council support, public support, enthusiasm on Twitter on this vs Emerald Tower really reinforces this:

Design matters.

Passed unanimously (Gibbons absent)

Apparently a blind guy can design a better looking tower than most of Edmonton's architects.

To what degree is the density of this proposal different than what Emerald was looking for? I'm Just trying to understand why it's not getting the same amount of grief from the politicians.

Emerald was less about density and more about podium, parking and design.

The complete disregard of the amount of people that will be moving through this lrt station when an event is on by its designers is baffling.

Look at that bottleneck not sure — they were thinking but I'm not surprised given the history of our transit department

The design and almost all of the build of the station predates any notion of an arena being put beside it.

I'm sure they're just waiting until it's all a big gongshow & then they can do a study, maybe have an Open House or two before announcing some changes that'll take 50% too long & cost 50% too much, while simultaneously making things much, much worse in the interim.

Because Edmonton Transportation Department.

No, because people will (hopefully) learn to use multiple locations if this one is busy.
