It's 70 floors. It was reported in the Atlanta Business Journal. We'll be getting a lot more details and renderings over the next couple of days since the meeting is tomorrow evening.

I really hope they don't bulldoze those historic brick buildings. I really don't understand why Atlanta can't get smaller infill that goes between two older buildings to stitched together a nice blend of old and new. Why does it have to be one large apartment block? I'm sure they can build some smaller student housing infill for GA Tech students who can walk to class.

This is the block in question by the way for anyone wondering: https://goo.gl/maps/WjKPsYHo3692

The Hotel Roxy building in your link is 768 Marietta Street...the Georgia Tech Engineer's Bookstore just up the street is 748 and I assume the parking lot next to it is 758 and both included in the consolidation (748-758), so the historic Hotel Roxy won't be part of it but this one would - which would be a shame:

73 is the top residential floor, plus two floors of mechanical and the parapet walls.

Does anyone else find these odd?

1. The Trillist Companies is putting their high-end hotel and condo development on Crescent and their apartment tower on Peachtree? It seems like it should be the other way around.

2. One Museum Place is selling condos from $900 - 3.7 Million and none the units have a balcony and there isn't a pool. Odd, but it is 50% sold so what do I know.

And officially the second tallest building in Atlanta when finished, and a whopping 100 feet taller than OAC.

Do you know the answer to the question posed about it being the tallest residential building outside of NYC?

It is. I checked. I think the tallest for Chicago would be The Aqua which is like 870 or so feet.

I wish some developer would have the balls to give us a new city's tallest. I know its easier said than done, but still...

Also..I would probably prefer all of the infill that has been going on between Midtown and Downtown any day, over one supertall.

Crossing my fingers we'll have at least a solid proposal by the end of the decade.

I think based on a couple of sources, a new tallest tower for Atlanta will be announced within the next 1-2 years. Can't say were i heard it from, I don't know anything else or any details

Miami

^ Brickell City Centre EAST Hotel on the left & SLS Lux U/C on the right. The low rise white building on the left is where Swire Properties 1,040 foot | 80 story One Brickell City Centre super tall will rise next year.

Wouldn't be surprised....office rents in Midtown and Buckhead are blowing up with no real inventory being supplied apart from headquarters being built(NCR for examples). In 3-4 years, the office market will be very competitive for tenants assuming no massive recession.

Perfect time for a tall office tower to be built.
