Yeah, the tower isn't bad-looking for its era. Here's a photo I took last summer while updating the list of Vancouver's tallest buildings on Wikipedia.

At Beatty and Robson today. Looks like stands for the new bike share setup.

^Yeah... they're popping up all over. Seen them at Cambie + False Creek Seawall, Olympic Village Canada Line Station (both in front and behind the entrance), and elsewhere...

They don't. There will be helmet rental stations and some kind of cleaning I believe.

Whether or not the police enforce the helmet law remains to be seen. I wouldn't be surprised if this gets the same treatment as somebody smoking a joint these days (ie: nothing).

They already don't enforce the helmet laws, I expect that won't change.

No, but you can usually get away with it in the suburbs on sidewalks where no one walks. I have seen people get pulled over for it in busier areas though.

the city hates people, and i mean HATES people who do it. especially on any busy street. they wont care on unused sidewalks, but DON'T do it anywhere downtown or in busy areas. also avoid doing in in the BIA's, they hate that stuff to. the worst is people on sidewalks on Dunsmuir... why? thats when they need to get clothes-lined. "oops guess you should have been doing a walking speed on the sidewalk"

The only people I see riding on the sidewalks in the city are the homeless/crackheads who don't give a shit about anything anyway.

I can assure you plenty of activity is going on downtown, just a lack of photography since Klazu moved to Burnaby.

I saw more bike share stations today, notably on Heather and 7th, taking up about 2 parking spots worth of room on the street. Apparently the initial rollout will have 28 stations, and there will be a website up this week with a map (and an app I'd have to assume).

Wow.

In the last month I've posted approximately 442 photos of 34 different projects or things going on downtown.

Thanks - sad to see those houses go. Does anyone know if Marcon owns one of the other sites on this block? Their website has an aerial that makes it look like it was taken from this block... http://www.marcon.ca/projects/

Their Burquitlam aerial is taken from exactly the spot that they own.
