It is your own fault for buying a condo next to a rail yard and now being bothered by the noise. There are plenty of condos not next to the rail yard within New West that you could have bought instead.

I am currently living in an apartment near a major roadway. I guess I should start a petition to restrict the highway to only operating from 8 to 10 on weekdays as well?

The train yard is nothing new in that area.

man the entitlement in this post. "must stop train activities because condos built next to rail line." or the wonderful analogy of continuing rail operations, like the past 100yrs, is the same as packing the inlet with tons of oil barges.

why don't we just stop all industry around new condos; we should give priority to new condos instead of a century old industry that drives our economy! THAT'S AN AMAZING IDEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't have much sympathy either. But that might only be because of a general grumpiness and an expectation that when you buy a place to live, you should check out the location with care.

But, I think its a bit more complex than who was first and for how long. Everything changes, and when our elected officials change zoning and promote land use changes, especially en mass, then the responsibility for those changes gets spread a lot wider than the private citizens who come along and literally buy into what their government has set up. When the cities allow major development in these areas, they take on responsibility for the quality of that use (in this case, livability) as well as for the defense of reasonable rights for the poor suckers who end up where the city wanted them to.

My frustration is aimed at the municipalities for their stupid zoning used to attract development and people without regard for the obvious and inevitable conflicts. Like the downtown stadium entertainment district: the city had no business setting it up the way they did and allowing residential development to trump everything else.

That's Cadence by Cressey. Visit the oval almost every day, and that project has been going up pretty quickly.

A lot of these buildings have been selling out rather fast lately, I've noticed several in Burnaby that never seemed to have been open to public but having several towers sold out. Selling to realtors and insiders?
