I linked an article a couple pages back which interviewed those in charge who explained their decision making. Cost was not a major contributing factor. They couldnt forsee any events in the near future requiring a field without football markings and the trade off was accomodating those once in a while events for the primary tennants permanent lines.

Did you miss the part where i said im a ticats season ticket holder and got banned from the red patch boys forum for supporting the cfl in arguments? Or do you have selective hearing. So i would be a cfl fan.

Stiched in football lines may also inhibit rugby btw.

Anyways. Whats done is done(or soon to be done). Arguments have been made for and against it. We know where we all stand.

You're right. Mosaic 1.0 is concrete with turf (carpet, lol) overtop. There's no drainage underneath which is why there's such a substantial crown in the middle. It is incredibly hard and I give all the players credit for playing (being tackled) on it. I couldn't move the next day after playing a fun pick up style of football on it one afternoon. All my joints hurt, all my muscles hurt, it was a whole other world of pain compared to a generic piece of grass in the park.

Mosaic 2.0 has proper drainage (I can't remember how many drainage points there are), sand, and finally the turf surface.

I hear you on the hardness of Mosaic 1, there is no give on that carpet at all.

Do the rows of seats in the corner end zone and end zone in the lower bowl of Mosaic have a slightly steeper pitch than those that run along the sidelines? Maybe my eyes are deceiving me.

That's a mighty good eye. The corners/end zone seats are at a steeper pitch than the sides.

CFL players were complaining 30 years ago that Taylor Field was like playing on cement.
