EDIT:
Looks like the Men's addition will be confined to the basement (former SportChek), and the upper level (former Atmosphere)
will be Tiffany & Co, Louis Vuitton and the café (?).
Note the stair and escalator to Pender Place (700 West Pender) will be obscured by the new Louis Vuitton (built in the former corridor).

The Best Buy tag should be bigger than the blade and look like a flag.

The old Future Shop sign was internally lit with metal halide (?) bulbs and translucent lettering.
You can see the internal frame has shapes for the lettering.
The new Best Buy sign has external yellow neon trimmed lettering.

Not a great application at all, looks like a rather sloppy job, the misaligned 'B' looks terrible.

I think the B is just bigger than the e s and t so its further left but also further right so it does have balance. Why its bigger is another question.

Just bought some gym stuff there, great looking store with lots of 'wow' for the corner! I like exterior signage better than Chapter's which was inside the glass and had little impact. Store is incredibly well stocked too so amazing selection and size ranges right now which is not typical of SportChek

Well, the smaller "SportChek" on the awning above the entrance should hang below the awning.
It's not really visible behind the bree branches higher up.

Work being done for Nike Robson, in the old Mexx space. Funny to see Nike back on the same block after a three year absence.

Pics by me this morning:

Both sides of the Robson St. sign above the 7-Eleven.
The letters look the same as on the bigger Granville sign - so the proportions work much better.
The Granville sign is still blank on the south side - so maybe they realize it looks like sh!t and are rethinking it?

The trend on Vancouver Island, and I would assume it is similar in Vancouver...

First off Home Hardware is a co-op brand similar to Best Western. Each store in individually owned and then the individual stores are member of the national Home hardware organisation. Some of the store owners have been slowing buying out others so they becoming little regional groups.

The Big Box stores tend to be good a supporting suburbs. However each of the local Home hardware store the local neighborhood and the relative age of the local buildings. They have the weird parts that you need for keeping up homes from a certain vintage and local building practice.

It took some scrolling through the pdf to find the actual plans. They're going to renovate the existing mall to make it look nicer, the old Target space will be upgraded and house Sport Chek and Toys R US, and the north side (where Sport Chek and Toys R US are now) will have an outdoor mall on the surface parking lot. Underground parking to be included with this project (it doesn't look there's any now).
