Sweet, our own little homage to Post-WW2 London.

I just took a look at the drawing.
LMAO...that guy who's jumping - priceless.
It's going to be a mess unless there's some type of upkeep (pulling of weeds, scooping of dog leavings, trash collection) at least weekly. And across from the Mere Hotel? If I was management over there I would be quite irate.

Maybe they're stockpiling gravel early for the Pumphouse development? lol

How about the coyote looking dog in full sprint? In the middle of the dunes. haha

^ Those comments made me go back and look at it again, and it didn't look any less epically stupid the second time around.

Hopefully the gravel or stones or whatever will be put to good use in a nearby construction project once the exhibit closes.

I thought it was an actual joke when I first saw it. The person responsible for this must have been dropped on their head or something.

These "characters" are great! How about the little boy at the far end appearing to be taking a leak?

Or the red shirt guy eating his lunch, —.

This stuff is classic!

Playing on hills of gravel?....yeah that's quite safe. Hopefully someone has got some $ socked away for the potential personal injury lawsuits that will be pending lol. Will they have hard hats available to wear when you want to play in this construction zone??

Wow... Just wow! The designer obviously doesn't know how filthy crushed limestone is... One good rain and the mounds will solidify and the water will leach filthy dust everywhere... I cannot believe this won!

They'll probably bring in clean limestone with no fines. But still. I could see this being cancelled by the City.

Too late, 4 of the piles were already there as of last night. It looks just as bad as you'd think.

I'm sorry for your loss.... If you check out the original link to all the bids, there were so many other proposals that looked interesting. Unique, colourful, different themes. Not a pile of limestone..

Actually, perhaps this is the perfect venue for a forum meet-up, with drinks to follow at Peg Beer Co...

I considered it last night when I was out walking the dog. Would be hoping that someone would snap a pic of me doing that.

Cityscape: Winnipeg's Historic Exchange District as the Chicago of the North

Quote:
1400 kilometres north of the Windy City, Winnipeg is home to an impressive collection of commercial architecture from the turn of the last century that has won 'The Peg' the somewhat lesser-known designation of 'Chicago of the North.' Rivalling Saskatoon's claim to fame as the 'Paris of the Prairies,' Winnipeg's 'Chicago of the North' moniker serves its city more faithfully, as the architecture in Winnipeg's historic Exchange District is inextricably linked to the worldwide influence of the Chicago School of Architecture. This edition of Cityscape will explore the intricate architectural connection between Winnipeg's Exchange District and the set of architectural guidelines and philosophy that have become synonymous with Chicago.

Thx for the post hotwheels, moved it down to the Exchange District Thread.

Great piece on the Exchange, for good reason, The similarity in the stock of buildings we have in the area..

I was involved in multiple movie shoots for the exact reasons described in the article. Shall We Dance, Murdoch Mysteries, Assassination of Jessie James..etc..based in great part to the similarities of our Big City Twin Neighbor to the south..
