I stated in the post that largest stadium was for stadiums being used for that tournament.

The US falls into its own category due to it having so many large stadiums owned and operated by Colleges and Universities. Other countries have this in relation to other sports stadiums which could theoretically host events (Cricket, Rugby stadiums) but which don't because they're simply not needed by the hosts. Twickenham and Melbourne Cricket Ground come to mind.

The Final is clearly hosted in the most prominent city in the country. Aside from Yokohama (which admittedly is a major part of the Tokyo metro), all those cities are prestigious cities with name-brand recognition. Three of them have/will have hosted Olympic events. In the off chance Canada got to host the World Cup, the Final wouldn't be held in Edmonton. It's a silly topic to discuss.

There's still Rogers Stadium, Rogers Coliseum, Rogers Gardens, Rogers Park, Rogers Forum. Plenty of options for stadiums and arenas left.

Looks like the bombers replaced the tacky gold skirting with something darker at IGF (pretty sure a dark blue)Cant seem to find a pic but I was watching a video on the bombers Facebook page and I have to say it looks so much better. After seeing the black grey cup banners at the end of last season i was truly hoping the bombers would see this opportunity

It was a different experience, ok I guess, standing room only except for the top row which had a row of seats behind it to use *

Lacked atmosphere and or anything else as a 'party zone'. We gave feedback to the Esks. It needs a Bacardi tiki bar and or Bacardi servers. Everyone was drinking Pil in the rum zone?!?!? Maybe a giveaway or 2 as well to spice things up.

What would really help make Commonwealth feel more intimate is ripping out the useless endzone seats that are tarped over every game. There is no need for the Eskimos having 58,000 seats when they usually average between 30-35,000 per game. Take the 8,000 or so tarped over endzone seats and make it a grass endzone like it was originally in 1978.

"Generally", a country's largest stadium will be found in the capital. Its more prevalent in smaller less-developed countries in which the infrastructure is strongest in the capital region.

Of all world stadiums with over 70,000 capacity, 22/37 are located in the capital city. I think its fair to say that "generally" a country's largest stadium will be located in the capital city.

Not at all. I'm merely defending my point that it is common for the largest stadium to be in the capital, and as such, be the city which could host the final. I also stated in my original post that Canada is one of the exceptions. Either way, there is no reason why Edmonton couldn't host a World Cup final if we did not want to build brand new stadiums for the event. Stadium construction tends to be a very touchy subject in this country, so if we could use an existing stadium that's a huge positive.
