"Stern-Designed 520 Park Avenue Soars Above Grade"

Quote:
Developed in collaboration between real estate developers Zeckendorf Realty, Park Sixty, and Global Holdings Inc, 520 Park Avenue will feature an Indiana limestone exterior. In a testament to its luxury, only 33 residences will be included in the development. That means every suite will span at least an entire floor, with expansive ceiling heights making way for large windows. Each home will also come with a master suite, dressing rooms, and two marble-clad ensuite baths. The views of Central Park and the Upper East Side from the elegant bay windows will be naturally breathtaking. The building's triplex penthouse was listed at a whopping $130 million.

Slowest-moving tower of the current boom, but I forgive them because that is some NICE looking limestone. Instant deco icon.

I had my doubts, but this will fit in very nicely between the Pierre and the Sherry-Netherland.

Wow. This looks like it will turn out GREAT. I am liking the limestone cladding they chose here better than what they're doing at 220 Central Park.

Construction method is pretty interesting. Per some of the June 1 pictures, are they applying the cladding and then carving out the windows? Seems strange.

I think this tower, aesthetically, is better than 220 CPS. This may be the best Stern building.

Agreed.

220 CPS reminds me of something built along Chicago's Miracle Mile. It along with Park Tower, Elysian and One Bennett Park were botched attempts at recreating historically well-proportioned architectural styles.

The same can't be said for 520 Park Ave. or 30 Park Place.

Stern also designed Dallas's Ritz-Carlton and Ritz-Carlton Residences in the Regency style. His work is phenomenal.

IN PICTURES: BROKERS GET FIRST LOOK INSIDE 520 PARK

Quote:
An invited group of New York brokers were among the first to step into 520 Park Avenue at an event hosted by Zeckendorf Development. Held on the 29th floor concrete slab of the tower’s construction site, the event marked the first time 520 Park Avenue has been open to guests from the brokerage community. Brokers had the opportunity to walk around the full-floor simplex and experience the views of the Upper East Side Historic District and Central Park from its 85 foot frontage. Once completed the simplexes will offer over 225 feet of exterior perimeter windows.

Brokers entered the building from Park Avenue, passing by 520 Park Avenue’s historic neighbor – the Grolier Club – the oldest private club for bibliophiles in America. Each guest received a 520 Park Avenue hardhat before taking the construction hoist up 350 feet.

Located at East 60th Street between Park and Madison Avenue, 520 Park Avenue has now reached 40 percent of its final height. The 800-foot tall tower designed by Robert A.M. Stern will become the tallest building on Manhattan’s historic Upper East Side, offering 33 full-floor residences.

I would want the dude in the T-shirt or the two women in that last photo to be my broker. — all the pretense of a nice suit and just find a condo that's right for me.

I'd like to be the dude WITH the all five woman selling you the apartment. On one side, I get a nice fee, and five woman, and I get to make colemonkee happy. So happy that he permanently moves to NY from LA.
