On the left hand side of the image, have they already removed the brown metal? Looks like that whole wall has been stripped.

That left hand side is actually the RBC building.

Ah yes, okay. We had heard they would be redoing the podium on the RBC building. Thanks.

I believe they're redoing the RBC Building podium this summer also. So maybe that process has started on the south side of that building.

I think I want to live there but with the bus ramp proposal and future light rail I'm not sure. There might be too much traffic in the area. I live on Hargrave now, which is quiet.

I don't see any way the City will connect to Graham ave with an overhead roadway. Current/old proposal is to utilize street system from Pioneer/William Stepheson. It would be quite a day in Winnipeg if that happened! I'd almost prefer to go underground below Main and Graham Ave. Change Graham Ave into a pedestrian mall type thing.

^ Grade separation over/under Main would be fantastic from a transit service POV. The incremental cost over the elevated route they have to build anyway would be significant, but not "let's dismiss this whole notion instantly" high.

No, definetly not. And it'll be looked at as part of that study.

But we'll see what Winnipeg's appetite is for elevated roadways directly above Main St. Possibly even around the MTS buildings. It would be unsightly, but provide way better transit service for sure.

Do you think this will have the effect of 'shortening' the tower?

From a height perspective, 360 Main might look more impressive with the older skin (smaller windows).

if the windows don't shorten the look the shiny 40 floor tower next to it will!

Updated pic of the wrap.
Had been thinking that it will look like the Rogers building but now that the lines are all black, not so sure.

Gonna take a 'wait and see' attitude on this one. I thought the first pic looked nicer, but maybe the finished product will grow on me once we see a larger area.
The peel-off has wrapped around to the south side now, too.

I'll take a wait and see. Is the black going all the way up? Seems like on the renders it's only on the lower few floors.

Oh just noticed the silver bars are now black too..

If that continues the building will look black instead of blue glass.

Does anyone know if this black/dark tower trend is happening as prominently in other cities as it is here? It's like every new building or reno is going to black. IF it keeps happening in 20 years we're going to have the same "problem" as we do now — instead of complaining how every building is brown, we'll say "damn, every building here is black and faded."

How does a bus even make that 135 degree turn from Main St. to W. Stevens Way?

On topic - The building looks better with the silver trim. Black and grey cars - blah. Imagine them with black wheels too.
