It's probably the only place that I can tolerate being stuck in traffic.

I have to agree.. seeing both skylines from that location it is really impressive. It's crazy how much both skylines have transformed. Toronto's is always a beast, but Mississauga's really stands out and is quite impressive.

The new towers are really transforming the Montreal and Toronto skylines....

Still a lot more new towers are required.

I know I'm going to get racked over the coals for this but.........I actually preferred Toronto's skyline before Southcore started to develop. You use to be able to see the financial district with it's varied designs and colours but now all you see is a sea of monotonous blue glass and it looks very sterile. A good skyline is more than just a bunch of buildings.

Financial District is still visible from all angles and it too is being taken over by blue glass: EY Tower/INDX/BAC1/BAC2, no point singling out Southcore for hate.

A lot more towers coming to the lakefront east of Yonge the skyline will stretch and be a hell of a lot better and more dramatic than the old skyline of 5 bank towers at the corner of King and Bay.

I feel the same. Southcore feels soulless and intrusive. Of course that's my perspective and I'm not particularly invested in TO's skyline, but I enjoyed the contrast between FCP & friends and CN tower. Soon it will just be a blob.

I consider what is happening at South Core in Toronto like what happend to lower Manhattan in the 60s and 70s when all the classic skyscrapers from the beginning of the century were blocked out by new towers and could not longer be seen as well from the harbour.

If you're talking about the photo above posted by ainvan, none of the original bank towers have been blocked out by Southcore, except for TD Centre, though it's being blocked by the Harbour Plaza towers which will be white not blue.

You know, I didn't even realize that. The only visible Southcore towers are One York (Sunlife) and ICE Condos, MLS is blocked by the Sunlife Tower with the exception of the crown tips.

I wouldn't mind Southcore at all if it had some variety in building designs, colour, and texture but it doesn't. It is a sea of sterile blue glass.

Yes! I've always thought so. It has many detractors but I like it.
