ya I agree, been waiting a long time. I am not sure a few shovels in the ground will make me excited about this, although better than watching weeds grow. When I see something being built rising above grade is when I will get excited. Sorry for not being more optimistic.

They even were nice enough to tease us more by putting up 2 billboards.

I don't think the design is complete for the parkade, nor the hotel above. Typically they have to match or a thick transfer slab is required.

Would probably be pretty tough designing parkade when you don't know the height of the condo on top also. Unless they do know.

There is a lot of design to yet be done. As of 2 months ago, they had their architects on board but no engineering firms yet engaged. I can't see the ground breaking being anything more than ceremonial.

hotel/condo is 1st phase of the site, east tower is first phase of office development.

Though the renderings and description don't agree. The image shows the condo smaller than the hotel.

RESIDENTIAL TOWER - targeting 19 storeys which will house 80-100 condominium residences

Targeting is the Key Word. As are the monthly changes..

Dependent on the Market/Pre-Sales

Man, talk about trying to follow the bouncing ball. I'll be very interested to see where on the site the ground breaking will take place.

As of 2 months ago, the Hotel/Condo building and the portion of the parkade directly beneath it was going to be the first part of the development to proceed. To suddenly shift to the east office tower would indicate that Triovest has landed a major tenant for the site, which is something that has stymied any new office tower construction in Saskatoon for quite a while.

Hopefully, I'll be proved wrong, but I don't expect to see any meaningful construction taking place on site this year.

There was that article about investors seeking saskatoon. Could by why the east tower is a go. But your right... with this bouncing ball.... its hard to say what goes 1st. Could even be both? Who knows. We always need hotels...

Lets just be thankful this is the most action weve heard about this development. After the ceremonial....thats what will tell the true story. In my mind... i think hotel condo and east tower will be going all at once. I can bet after that... NPD will get the downtown towers going next year. Ill email both parties to get details lol

Might see some prep. work, sign of faith/progress, but probably correct.

For those that venture outside this Sub-Forum to post..

Well this is the week. Hope were all not let down once again. I wonder if that 18 month deadline to complete each phase is still active?
