The Cardholder must not deface, alter or duplicate a Compass Card or create a counterfeit Compass Card.

You're still into the glue, I see. Most other cities have long since dropped that term and condition or never used it at all because it's stupid.
Watch me spite your trashy ideas, TransLoser.

Punching a hole in a Compass Card alters it and therefore makes it invalid to be used.

You also run the likely risk of damaging the antenna loop and ruining the card. You're better off dissolving the card in acetone and putting the assembly in something else. Optionally keep the original card, clone it (can't talk about that, for reasons), modify the copy and whenever one of the transit grunts want to exercise their ego you pull out the real card and they'll never know.

I haven't seen the inside of a Compass Card yet, but this image shows the inside of a Compass Ticket. A Compass Card would look the same.

Like I criticized before the Compass is so cheap, generic and garbage that the layout of the internals are that of an ISO 14443A card, as pictured above, which you can buy bulk from china for about ten cents a card, optionally in sticker and resin FOB form which then lets you carry your Compass card in your phone or on your keyring. You can always identify where the chip is by finding the spot on the card where there is a rectangular non-uniform spot.
My friend has discovered that Compass cards are flexible enough that he can roll one up and stuff it in one of those classic magical wands.
He amazes everyone by tapping the faregate with that, yet when he's asked to show the car he can just pull it out.
