^^^ Still not warming up to the siding, it reminds me too much of the Fieldhouse. It would look much better if a single color would of been chosen (I would of preferred the silver).

I will still wait till it is 100% done but the siding still is not doing it for me. It makes a rather impressive facility look cheap.

I'd like to think that the hostilities between fans of TFC and the Argos will fade away once things settle. Most of the people going to the games will in all likelihood be fans of both teams, as well as the Leafs, Jays and Raptors. There's no reason for there to be any kind of rivalry.

With the terrible last couple of seasons the Argos had, I think it became fashionable to kick them while they were down. This sort of thing often happens to teams going through a rough stretch on and/or off the field.

As it becomes clear that the Argos are in Toronto to stay, those feelings will subside and the follow-the-crowd types like caltrane will go with the flow.

Of course there will probably always be a tiny hardcore of TFC fans who will continue to hate the Argos, but I doubt it will be reflective of what the general population (or even the sports-fan population) really thinks.

Aerial photo. The footings and foundation are all in. Structural steel will be on the way shortly. I expect cranes on site before the end of the month.



A 9,000 seat facility with corporate boxes, club seating and a private restaurant in addition to concessions. This is the first phase of a major reconstruction of the west end of the downtown core. This facility is worth $110M. There is at least this much in terms of nearby private investment expected, including a multi story commercial/residential building on the triangular parking lot to the right of the arena, the Keddy's block across the street (owned by the Aquillini's from Vancouver), the Junction Urban Village down the street, and the completion of the revamp of the Terminal Plaza office complex.

Also, I didn't realize that the open-end side of Mosaic was that big.

It looks translucent in the renderings. That look would have made the stadium look much, much, much better. I'd have to agree with your current assessment; the material looks like what you'd see on a grain silo.

I totally agree with this. The renderings look way better than the result so far. Quite disappointing, it makes the building look dated in my opinion. The interior is spectacular though.

I'll agree as well. The renders were a pretty big misrepresentation of how the exterior will look. My initial problem was with the "siding", but that roof isn't very pretty either.

I'm sure the interior will look really good though.

Agreed. The inside looks way better than the outside. Not a fan of the siding. And there's a lot less translucentness going on in real life.

The perforated steel covers the stairways & the ramps. The only area where it has been installed in the small stairway on the SE corner. When all the ramps & stairs are cladded it will look translucent, especially at night. As far as judging the exterior, wait until it's complete. It looks exactly the same as the HKS renderings.

Incorrect. The perforated translucent metal has always been for the ramps & stairs which constitute 41% of the exterior finishings. The remaining 59% consists of glass & the steel cladding, most of which hasn't been installed yet. When the facility is complete I'm sure most will be pleased.

One must also remember that most stadiums have little to no cladding at all, ie Commonwealt Stadium & are just opened to the back end of the bleachers or are just concrete walls like the Rogers Centre.
