Hey Knight? You may want to pick up a couple of bottles of Scotch, before Kenney tacks on a "3 cent an oz." on it....

There's a building going up next to the B. Franklin Bridge (north side, Philly end). Was just in the city but this was out of my way, though I could see the crane from the train.
How tall will it be? Is there a thread?

No new news about the SLS?

I'm not feeling great about that one. But boy I sure hope it gets built.

I figured I'd post the question here, as to not needlessly bump the SLS thread.

Dranoffs website says estimated completion Spring 2019 now. So it looks like we've got a ways to go still.

Nope. There is no junk added sugar or artificial sweetener in scotch. Just beautiful malted barley. Barrel aged.

Yes Philly-D , the ever shrinking SLS appears to be heading in the same direction as the ol' Mandeville Place
project and I will be surprised if it ever amounts to anymore than a four story parking garage ...... Of course
THAT would be an improvement over that frigging shit hole waste land at 8th. & Market .... but then , there I
go again ...................

PS ; I posted here too because it's home to me ......

I think the last anyone heard it was supposed to start this summer. Months ago the theory was the project was simply waiting for the state budget. That theory doesn't seem all that sound at this stage.

It looks like the awards for the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program grants in the 2015 budget are being held up by the administration to get the General Assembly to agree on the 2016 budget faster.

http://blog.pennlive.com/capitol-notebook/2016/06/are_lawmakers_grants_being_hel.html

While this might be annoying to pro development folks, at least it might lead to a definitive budget solution so that the 2016 money will get distributed in a timely fashion.

interesting, but I still don't think that is the reason nothing has happened.

Being told August 2016 start date for SLS now. I'm not really sure anymore though... with every missed deadline comes more excuses from Dranoff folks. Guess we'll see

When you really get going on construction you start w pre sales. Maybe he wants to hit a threshold on riverside before competing against himself w another project, would make sense to me

I mentioned this to you not too long ago, no? About mid April?

IMO it's not happening - word around the water cooler is equity financing isn't there because the investor returns aren't good enough for a ground up development.

Might as well make that construction date line up with Schuylkill Rail Yards lol.

State budget wasn't the impact either - those funds were like $6M of the total capital stack. Peanuts.

Again, this is just hearsay from people in the market. The plan isn't dead, it's just in the "forever planning" phase....or "forever equity funding" phase.
