They look so out of place with all the red, but they're going to get treated a million times better here.

^ I think she looks beautiful. Every stadium that's not sold out doesn't look good with empty seats.

wonder if they're going to put down some sort of tarp over the grass on the sidelines to prevent damage.

i'm not worried about the colour of the seats, it won't matter if they sell out. the eskimos played at commonwealth with red seats for a while. same with the lions at bc place with blue seats.

It's nice that the Argonauts have left the tomb, but there is *zero* runout behind those endzones. Were I a player or a coach or a GM, that would make me very nervous, especially with head injuries being the hot topic that they are.

Extra padding will help. Seeing someone run (or get pushed while running) full-tilt out of the back of the endzone is a fairly rare sight anyway... receivers turn there for obvious reasons.

Besides, if Arena Football could make far tighter dimensions work, I don't think this will present an insurmountable challenge.

there actually is a runout. The cfl mandates certain space between the endzone and the wall. I believe the endzone is only 17 or 18 yards deep to accommodate the runout.

^It will end up being a home-field advantage to the Argos in time as they get more used to it while the other teams will only see it once or twice a year.

Why do the canopies at Beamo stretch so far past the ends of the stands? Was this in contemplation of eventual expansion or is there some other reason?

My guess would be that they needed to be far enough from the stands to do proper support work, and those posts determined the length of the canopy.

Definitely nice to see some real grass back in the league (and no stupid ads!). If fans actually keep showing up at BMO beyond the honeymoon phase, the natural field will probably help the Argos in free agency. Knees and ankles like the real stuff.

Very refreshing to see. Everywhere else, hockey and football venues, it's just overkill.

Can't see them NOT painting ads on there. This is the CFL after all.

Just be happy the entire chest of their uniforms is not devoted to ads!

I don't think there are many pro leagues in any sport that can really claim to be innocent in this regard. Ads are ubiquitous.
