That's it! I knew it was on there under a different name. It's nice to have so many Midtown projects that they become confusing.

Yeah, might be infill, but that corner was screaming for at least a 350-400 footer.

I'm plenty happy with this development. Underground parking, 15,000 sq. ft. street level retail, and over 300 residential units, approximately the same as Post Millenium going up equidistant from Midtown Station. While I'd love for our skyline to continue to grow, I really just want seamless urban fabric in our neighborhoods for a few blocks in a row in more than just a linear fashion.

I love skyscrapers period. But, I have to admit, I wouldn't mind for Atlanta to have a few blocks where it was a true seamless urban fabric.

To me, even if North Highland had more small scale 1-2 story infill between approximately Drewry St. to Sampson St. it would be incredible for Atlanta. It's street like that make a neighborhood charming, local, and desirable, IMO. Southpart Ave. of Chicago (http://url.ie/zlbd) and Walnut St. of Pittsburgh, PA (http://url.ie/zlbc) reminds of what some of our local street's urban fabric could be like without losing local charm.

Look at the difference the power lines make in those two shots.

Seems a little quiet lately, but two recent items of note:

1270 Spring St. filed for commercial lot consolidation:

Paces filed a SAP/SPI for a new building "expansion greater than 250,000 sf." at 25 E. Andrews NW (Camden Paces) in Buckhead:

That blank wall could be something to see if they could somehow let city artists paint murals on it, like they did with the nasty undersides of bridges on the eastside beltline. Who would authorize that art? The developers of the project or the city?

There shouldn't have been a wall there to begin with. I am guessing it is more expensive to have buildings adjust to elevation changes, which would have allowed the retail storefronts to abut the sidewalk.

Yeah, I went by that Fuqua Glenwood site the other day and it's truly hideous. The pictures don't do justice to how anti-urban it is. It's a strip mall fortress.

that Fuqua at Glenwood development is gioving me flashbacks of Edgewood and the dumb strip of shops along Sidney Marcus.. both of which are arguably better since they arent going down a hill. if there were like 3 or 4 more sets of stairs embedded along that wall it would make sense.. whoever designed this needs to be taken out back and shot

You're absolutely right. I went biking around there the other day and it's an absolute shame. It's a complete slap in the face to what the Glenwood Park neighborhood stands for and what that area of the Beltline could have been.

I blame the city as well for not supporting the Beltline vision for this area and basically leaving the people of Glenwood/Grant Park to fend for themselves.
