Nice picture. We get used to seeing pictures from the same places, citadel, harbor, etc. This is totally different, took a minute to sort out where it was from.

That was the Exhibition Hall, near the present-day Forum site. Destroyed in the Halifax explosion, it was replaced by a much more pedestrian looking Industrial Building that was demolished when the Post Office complex was built in the 1970s. I remember being in it in the 1960s and being alarmed by the bouncy, creaky floors. Courtesy of Dmajackson:

Im guessing this was replaced by the even crappier Exhibition Park.

Not exactly LA by night, but I like it. The colour contrasts are neat. Really shows off the difference between LED and Sodium lights.

Wow. The LED lighting looks great.

According to the Halifax municipality website, it should provide a 50% energy savings and last about 20 years - http://www.halifax.ca/traffic/LED/

The traffic circles really stand out also.

You can also see the difference in how the light is directed by looking at Maynard or Gottingen, versus how the redesigned North Park looks.

LED lighting is refreshing in that everything isn't bathed in yellow at night. It's nice to see things in their actual colours, plus the quality of the lighting is better. All that and uses much less power to run them.

Needless to say I prefer LED lighting.

My opinion of them stands. They are hugely wasteful.

The round-a-bouts are great! They are pleasure to drive through in imo. Need more of them!

Only if you enjoy dodging drivers who are not looking for pedestrians because they are too busy looking for cars about to collide with them. Traffic signal lights were always a far more elegant solution.
