Nope. I had someone trying to get them for me, but no dice. Apparently people are furious over lack of tix available?

Something is rotten in the state of Denmark on this one methinks. I was in right at 10:00 AM and as soon as the page loaded it was showing as nothing available.
Doesn't seem possible.

Does anyone else find reading light grey text on a white background difficult to read?

CJOB's website is like that too.

This whole thing about mandatory bike helmets really gets to me. Just looking at this chart of stats from transport Canada. Pedestrian fatalities accounted for ~12-15% of deaths on the road. Cyclists? ~2%. But yet its mandatory for cyclists to wear helmets? Well by those stats pedestrians and basically everyone else should need helmets whenever they leave the house. You see how preposterous this is???!!!

Okay fine, the kids wear helmets. Stats still don't support that, but fine. But making every single person buy a bike helmet for no reason is ridiculous.

Good grief, look at the casualty rate in Saskatchewan. It's double every other province.

Apparently watermelons are not enough protection.

The interesting thing is that Manitoba consistently has a higher rate of injuries than any other province, and yet its fatality rate is half that of Saskatchewan's. Is there simply greater reporting of injuries in Manitoba?

By the way, the most recent statistics available appear to be from 2014. You can find those here: https://www.tc.gc.ca/media/documents/roadsafety/cmvtcs2014_eng.pdf

Thanks for the updated stats. IMO, it's typical stupid Russ Wyatt thumping his chest. Let's get some real stats here on helmets. Of the fatalities and injuries, how many are due to head contact? When Bike Winnipeg comes into the meeting and says no to mandatory helmets for various reasons and all Russ says is " You don't support me Bike people?!" Well 🞵🞵🞵🞵, c'mon. It's a wast of time and effort.

Just like the school zone speeds. There were no stats reviewed to put that 🞵🞵🞵🞵 show in place. Most zones are improperly signed anyways. You come off a side street and it doesn't tell you what the speed is or anything. All of a sudden you're in a school zone with restricted speeds. Easily fight that and win.

The below photo, no speed restrictions or anything. You can see the school straight ahead. By law, you need to be doing 30 km/h when in the school zone. You don't see any speed signs until you hit the cross street and turn the corner. You're already past the school at this time. I can't stand this kind of 🞵🞵🞵🞵.

^ Why doesn't Russ Wyatt lead by example and wear a helmet when he's driving? I understand that they are proven to reduce the severity of injuries in MVAs... so why doesn't he take his own advice?

To be clear, I'm not against safety. Of course. I just think there is a lot of buzz made in the media and everyone just jumps on it. People get ideas and run with it, wanting to make a name for themselves. But it seems to be one of those "well if you're wearing a helmet, you're safe". When really that's not the case. Also it seems most cyclists are killed or injured in collisions with vehicles. So maybe let's deal with that issue instead of knee jerking everyone into something silly.

Yup. The guy also said to temper your freak outs. Rarely do tornados actually occur and even rarer do they kill people. But sounds like it should be a good show!! This area stretched well into Saskatchewan as well, so be aware Stormer. Below is the map.

🞵🞵🞵🞵, that is going right through my family's area in SW MB. My brother the farmer was hoping for a week to 10 days of dry weather to dry out from the downpours of last weekend.

That map was from yesterday. I think today he updated it with this - note it is saying Friday now:

These guys are remarkably accurate at predicting severe weather days in advance.

Thanks for the update. That area of Manitoba doesn't seem likely to have tornados. Not historically anyways, terrain doesn't suit it. We'll see how she goes.

Tornado Hunter is now saying we should expect crazy weather on the prairies for the next 2 weeks.
