Great shots, just a real shame what we did to that area.

I was thinking the same thing. The American side looks much less tacky.

In hindsight the area on both sides should have been turned into national parks, but I guess no one was thinking that far ahead when the cities on either side of the Falls were established.

The American side is also a bit of a bombed out wasteland outside of a block or two. In person the Seneca casino also out-tacks anything on the Canadian side by a decent margin. It's hideous, and surrounded by acres of parking.

On the plus side we kept our tackiness to the top of the hill. The lands directly fronting the river alongside the Niagara Parkway are actually very tastefully done.

It's like the unveiling of a new monster for Clockzilla to fight! Sadly it still looks nicer to me than the dreck on the Canadian side. The observation tower and the red glassed hotels seem far worse. The Seneca Casino just looks like a native casino meets Vegas.

Question: What is that arena looking building on the American side?

The American side still seems to have some vestiges of its older city bones though. I can't tell for certain but there seems to be a 30's era tower and an older brick block of buildings. All I see on the Canadian side is a bucket tower and some tacky Vegas wannabe hotels. It could almost be Atlantic city. I'm amazed Trump doesn't have a resort there. I can just imagine the heart shaped bathtubs in the Honeymoon suite.

I drove through Niagara Fall, NY a few years ago to get to the bridge. It is truly awful - slum as city. I imagine the park at the falls themselves might be nice.

The building you were wondering about is the casino.

It is different. If you want to see the old bones of NF then the downtown is where you will find it.

Aside from a few of the later hotel additions the architecture new and old is much more interesting on the Canadian side. If you ever go and cross the border you will want to get back across almost right away.
