You buy your own car and people laugh because it's used, or not a Mercedes or BMW, you get a job and people say it's a crap place to work. You get a place to live and people say it's not a good area. You get a new partner and people say they don't like their personality, or they slept with this person or that. It's rotten that even when you're making positive movements, someone wants to s*** on your parade. As long as you're happy, be proud of yourself, and ignore the haters.

Class A office condos... Lol wtf is that. I noticed on their sales charts, the lower maybe 5 floors of the tower were not sold. So maybe they'll rent them out as office space.

That seems like such a weird thing. Office condos. I've seen signs around for Regus, which is an office space rental agency. They have the 3rd floor in 330 St. Mary and you can rent by the room. Looks like they just have a bunch of closed door single offices with common hallways. Which I assume will include photo copiers, lunch room, wash room etc. as part of your rental fee.

Is that what office condos are?

I've see signs around for "office condos" before - Crocus Building on Main maybe? Going out on a limb here and thinking it's just another way to word commercial office space.

Wouldn't office condos be like residential condos - you purchase the unit instead of renting it?

Office/commercial condos are like residential condos... you buy your space outright (as opposed to leasing), plus a share of the common elements. It has never really taken off in Winnipeg, only a handful of buildings have even tried it.

It's not the same as Regus-type office space short term rentals.

Exactly. This is what was done with the commercial units in Sky and Sky2 on Waterfront/Amy.

The office building right at the north foot of the Donald Bridge just coverted to office condos. The side the faces the bridge was redone and looks great, but they didn't do the side, and they look to be done with renos. Looks like 2 different buildings.

I wish the city/downtown had beautification standards like some neighbourhoods... force them to do the whole building.

Great to see the tentative plans the city has for Garry Street which is where the entrance to SkyCity will be located. Lanes for cyclists, lane closure for patios, etc etc. This will only add to the value of SkyCity.

Yeah, condos come in all types of uses. There's not a whole lot of difference between the ownership of different uses either.
