I was thinking, when looking at the sketch, that in a few decades people will be looking at these buildings the same way '80s buildings are looked upon now, with disdain.
I understand following styles, and how the new and unique becomes 'the norm' and all that, but I can't help but feel that the 2010's are going to be looked at as the time when a lot of buildings are characterized by disparate blocks with various styles of cladding usually in 3 or 4 different colours, not necessarily in keeping with any kind of theme, asymmetrical application of balconies/windows, and that little flip-up part at the top that looks like a skateboard ramp for super-extreme skaters.
Not a fan, really, but like most things it will pass.
