Can confirm that Estea is now open in the podium! It's a really nice place, they even gave away free chocolate on Halloween. Fondway should be opening soon too. That's two new cafes for the Metrotown Station precinct, and the first on Beresford!

This building looks as nice as anything on The Peninsula. The tower, anyway, and certain ground-level exteriors are very crisp, yet respecting the local streetscape and woods.

A nice building for sure, I had a friend live in there for a year so I was over there a fair bit.. it is nice but does seem a little plain with kind of a lack of soul imo.

With all the new towers coming up in the area I wonder how it will compare.

Can you confirm if the building is indeed missing all 40s floor numbers? I have seen units being advertised as "floor 57" which must mean a lot of missing floors.

I think it turned out pretty good but would have been much better if they stuck with the original orange/copper colour scheme instead of defaulting to the same bland beige that ends up on 90% of the towers in this city.

I've mixed feelings about this tower. I like the massing. Not a fan of bold colours in general; it's hard to use them tastefully. I think the sunny-d spandrels will age as badly as avocado green from the 70's.

The tower certainly stands out from the rest of the pack but I think it'll look dated within a few years.

Very nice and clean looking building. Nice shots and glad it is added to the Burnaby skyline.

Very nice. Can you hear the skytrain at all from up there?

It's not me but the lousy weather and all the move-in hassle that is the delay here. Patience, there are some cool views coming.

As the penthouse unit is basically on the roof, there is very, very little noise from down below. You could hear a needle drop up here in the evening. We can hear Skytrain only faintly on the east side where bedrooms are. Tiny Skytrains are still something nice to observe from high above.

There are altogether three penthouse units and two of them (ours included) have HUGE private rooftop patios. I haven't found figures, but the outdoor space (which includes also a large wrap-around "balcony") is larger than what our 1BR at The Max was. It is rediculously large space which would be very expensive to find in Downtown.

I think the third penthouse (in the beacon corner) might be two floors, but I have to ask from the friendly neighbours living there when I next time see them.

To me it seems that the location of this building is very close to the highest point in Metrotown, so I think we might be at the same level with Sovereign. At least it looks like that when I look that way from the patio, so this is one of the tallest apartments in all of Lower Mainland (Burnaby Mountain and North Shore excluded). With not many tall buildings around, one feels like flying when you look down. It is also cool how we are almost on the same level as planes approaching YVR, making for some great planespotting.

A lot more to come as I have time to start taking photos and posting them online. There are some wicked views from up here and I just got a new zoom lens, so... Good times ahead!

I regret not buying in this building when I had the chance... when it first opened up you had 1 bedrooms going for just under 300.

looked today and...nope!

Yeah, it's a nice building with lots of young residents. With ~340 units you can expect it to be busy and sometimes one has to wait for the elevator for quite a while (there are only three). When one is down, the loading times get very long, but so far so good.

Like mentioned, most residents in the building are young and there is a very significant amount of ethnically Asian people living in the building. I am not lying if I say that 90% of the residents are ethnical Asian. I suppose many people are well off, at least there are dozens of new German premium cars in the parkade, but no supercars.

Location is of course as central as it gets in Metrotown and I hope Beresford Street will get more busy with restaurants. There is a Asian cafe in the podium which is always packed, but I wish a Subway would open along the street. It's still convenient to have A&W and Chipotle just across the street, to satisfy one's fast food desires. Metropolis' food court is surprisingly far away and it will take 30 minutes door-to-door to go pick up something from there.

Amenities in the building are fine. The gym is pretty good and there is an entertainment space. According to building papers there should also be a sauna, but we have not found it. There is no pool, which is a bit of shame. Also the lack of on-site concierge sucks in a building this large, as there is constantly someone with something requiring their attention. But I suppose 24h concierge is quite rare in the suburbs.

There is a huge bike locker, but cycling seems not to be popular with the residents and the locker is almost empty.

Sorry for babbling, but happy to clarify any things for people interested in this landmark building.

The only Subway I know of is on Kingsway, assuming they haven't torn it down to put in a bigger building. I guess you'll have to put up with the Tim Hortons, Boston Pizza and Freshii that are in Station Square.

As far as cycling, the building is pretty new. There's a pretty full bike room here, although I'm not sure how many people actually ride their bikes (vs store them in the room).

Yeah, the Kingsway Subway is still there (there are even two) and there is one at Metropolis food court. But one along Beresford would be nice and I alone would likely make it profitable.
