A close friend of mine told me this weekend that he had heard that EATALY was considering the revamped Colony Square for a first-to-market store in Atlanta!

Whatever ends up going in at Colony Square, it definitely looks like it's going to have a transformative impact on the Midtown experience.

I noticed that one of the buildings in the video says "Alti Cibi" on it. Googled it and it means "high food." Eataly uses the phrase on some of its merch. Maybe they've already inked the deal. I live next door to CS. If there were an Eataly, I'd be there weekly.

East Point Town Center Project

Long-Stalled East Point Town Center Project Back in Play - Curbed Atlanta

Quote:
At East Point's most recent city council meeting, it was unveiled that the city hoped to start work on a long-planned town center, and that Macauley Investments had been selected to build the mixed-use development along Main Street in the heart of historic East Point, according to a tipster.

Drawings on the Macauley website show how the proposed development could provide 300 multifamily units and another 183 independent living units. In addition to the residential component, there would be space for a small grocery store, 36,000 square feet of retail space, and 916 parking spaces.

Not surprising. Add that to the NCAA fball national championship and the NCAA final four.

I have no idea how soccer works but think we'd get the concacaf again or something?

I think Uncle Arthur knows that there will be much $$ to be made from soccer in years to come. It wouldn't surprise me to see a World Cup game played at the Benz, eventually.

High Street for Perimeter has new renders on their site not sure when they were created: http://highstreetatlanta.com/

I like how things look way better than the old renderings (which looked more Post-modern to me)

Interesting, maybe High Street is back from the dead. I think the renderings have all been concepts so far, so there's no telling what it would actually look like, but it would be a huge plus for Perimeter. Funny that the site says it's in Atlanta, though... there's even a photo of Piedmont Park.

That's really ambitious. That's what you would expect the Civic Center redevelopment to look like. Just not sure if the demand is there at Perimeter Center to justify a development like this, but if it can pull it off, then WOW.

Yeah, the timing is definitely suspect....getting me a little excited here.

Also, I have a question for those permit experts....Has 811 Peachtree(Eviva) already been issued their building permit? Like if they get the funding and tax abatements together and wanted to start ASAP would they be able to or are there still outstanding permits they need to get? Thanks!

Its becoming extremely popular with the NFL that when a team gets a new stadium, that city is getting the Super Bowl, i.e. Minnesota, New York, Los Angeles.

Viewpoint is getting a new retail tenant Vitality Bowls: https://whatnowatlanta.com/plans-filed-for-vitality-bowls-in-midtown/

It is taking over the Seventh Midtown office.

Also noticed Seventh Midtown is getting some kind of eyeglass/sunglass retail space between Starbucks and the Resident Lobby.

I am hearing there is a land dispute that may not be resolved soon. I can tell you with certainty this one is shelved for the next good while.

Looks like the Canopy hotel downtown is nearing closer to reality.
