That 51,000 square feet is a challenging space. It's built over the parkade but there is no allowance for anything more above grade than what's there. When Stantec moves out they'll have to repurpose it to something because it won't be viable office space. I think that complex will be up for sale again very soon

Heck, it's barely viable office space now.

I actually wouldn't mind seeing the World Health Club move back to the Stantec space, and let their current space in City Centre Mall freed up for some actual retail.

By the time Stantec moves out they'll have a General idea of what the area is going to be like and take it from there. Up until now that area has been extremely challenging. I foresee it being demised off and listed as several CRU's or restaurant spots

The advantage is that Katz is going to demand a premium in his retail spots, whereas the CAM costs on the Centre Club will be much lower, giving more businesses an opportunity to get into the area who otherwise couldn't afford it

WHC ain't going anywhere

I wonder if they preserved his old locker from the Centre Club? Whenever we went there as kids I would always check out his old locker as there was a small plaque on it.

That place was totally gutted, so unless it's sitting in someone's man cave somewhere..

The real interesting stuff from the actual city movers and shakers at the time is sitting behind an unmarked door in a private club on the 29th floor of a tower that has an infinite lease and covenant on it

Some interesting restaurant and retail rumours kicking around, hopefully I can talk about them publicly soon. Anyone else hearing stuff?

As a member of the City Centre location of the World Health Club, I actually hope they move. Not just for the reasons I stated before, but also because we're running out of space inside the gym. People keep tripping over each other or over equipment. They've been rearranging the layout each month but it ain't helping.

Another thing is that with two downtown WHC locations within a few blocks of each other, someone is eventually gonna make a business case for closing one of them or consolidating the two into one larger location.

Also I have heard that OEG wants to attract a gym to Ice District so I wouldn't be surprised if WHC is one of the suitors.

West crane of the COE tower is being dismantled. Check out the live feeds or time lapse pics on the Rogers Place and Ice District Properties websites.

The Greyhound is coming down June 1 and then excavation and work for the parkade will commence with the retail podium and ~45-55 storey tower (TBC) on top of that.

Expect to see Good Life in ICE District.

Interesting to see how fast Stantec and JW are coming along now. JW will be at ground level before the end on summer. Stantec maybe Sept.
