Harry c I'm in oak park. Lots of construction going on in that area with both 20 story and 5 story mixed used buildings going up now . Also a 11 story and Streetscape projects as well. For being a relatively small suburban neighborhood of Chicago, oak park really bulking up, pretty dense and urban and these projects going to make a huge impact to further those assessments.

I want to be a salty sailor about the Essex Inn addition being changed, but other than the fact I expected it to be changed, I also feel like how most things seem to go, we'll end up really liking the finished product. Only time will tell I guess, but regardless a 620 foot building there will be absolutely an improvement over the parking garage/rooftop deck thingy there.

Including this high rise, that would be 6 projects fronting Lake Street west of the expressway. Always happy seeing this stretch of Lake Street getting some activity that it has not seen in a while.

1. The Parker (730 W. Couch Pl)
2. 922 W. Lake St (TOD project)
3. 200-208 N. Green (hotel)
4. 171 N. Green (Bridgefoods development)
5. 165-171 N. Aberdeen (office/residential)
6. 210 N. Carpenter

I agree, imagine if that design was released as the original design, it would receive a lot of praise. I still really like it, even though we lost the stilts it is still a clean building. kind of reminds me of the Chicago Title and Trust Building

GGWS... There is a protocol on the Chicago thread - to not "quote" an entire photo thread so as to repost the OP entire body of work. It is redundant and annoying to scroll through duplicates and then to only add a single line to the effect of "Good Job Brownie".

^^ Speaking of, the core is now topped-out, as they were removing its formwork over the weekend (you can see the results of in Harry's one photo above - sidebar: thanks for the great, as always, work!). The may also have finished the top residential level, although I'm not positive, as there's also a chance they have one more to go......

still a bit mad about that Polk and Financial tower.. an ugly podium facing the street and a greenspace, and the tower is really just blah. At least its not facing wells, hopefully that parking lot will be developed and hide this tower
