Isn't 43 Gerrard St. West already under construction crane and all? Also is that Avenue Road (which I love) render any different then the one shown 2 weeks ago?

I think the redevelopment is supposed to happen concurrently with this one next door (brown/black building to left of centre):

The brick building in the foreground is the Roy Building, currently being redeveloped into this:

QUAIS DE LORIMIER | 40 & 28 FLOORS | Montreal

Mandate: To create a mixed-use human-scale project connected to the city. Located at the foot of the Jacques-Cartier Bridge, Quais de Lorimier is where convenience meets creativity. This project restores a commercial area, caters to the local community, provides new residential opportunities and open urban spaces, and complements the offering of surrounding tourist destinations, such as Parc Jean-Drapeau, Saint-Helen’s Island, Notre-Dame Island, Parc Olympique, Grand Prix, and more.

The anti-podium. Loving the raised plinth and street interaction. Hoping the planters are substantial enough to support the kind of greenery suggested by the render. New favorite project in Toronto

Ya, that's what I think. Looks like it would look nice in Kanata, Milton, or dare I say Longueuil.

On the other hand I love that Avenue Road proposal.

I like it too. It's a grown-up counterpoint to the small town Maritime kitsch that you find along part of the waterfront. It's also going to bring the downtown buildings right down to the water.

I totally agree. It gives off a very Western European vibe... like something you'd expect to see in Rotterdam, Hamburg or some other such port city.

It's a shame about losing the tower proposal for 2 Queen West but it's great to see that the facade there will get a complete restoration. The Galleria Mall proposal looks very promising.
