I assume he means MLS since the CFL has less than 10 teams.

MLS will be adding 8 teams over the next 5 years and 7 of those will have new soccer built stadiums, so I don't know if BMO will be in the top 10 by then.

I am thinking of the next three years or so. I think BMO could still be a top-10 in the league by then.

Current stadiums and future stadiums (next 3 years) I think are or will be better than BMO:

Ok, that would put BMO in the top-12. That's still pretty good.

It's pretty unbelievable really....

ive actually watched them go from bitching about the Lack of north end to bitching about how much they hated the old design of the North end. No quit in them And keep in mind this isnt a MLS thing or a soccer thing this is a TFC thing. BMO is great! One of Canada's best CFL stadiums. Really happy with it Can't wait to catch a game there....I just hope it keeps the Agro's supporter noise in

I guess McKinney ISD must have all the teachers, educational material and extracurriculars it could possibly need so it makes perfect sense to spend US $62 million on a place for teenagers to play high school football

For what it's worth it's a beautiful stadium.

As a TFC fan we have always demanded the best, we demanded grass, a north end, a roof, better amenities and MLSE has followed through on our demands including the most expensive roster in the league, currently at $20 million.
As a result TFC now has one of the best stadiums in the league, but it's still not there yet, closing the corners and a north end will complete BMO filed.

Time will tell whether or not attendance will consistently increase to justify further investments to increase capacity at BMO. You don't generally expand a stadium just to improve the look.

Are you kidding me! I played football in front of a wooden bench stand with seating for maybe 50 in 2002. behind that was a building the looked like a barn (seriously) where we got changed. That is ridiculous! Murica!!

These Renovations/expansions weren't done for TFC nor the Argos, Although both will benefit tremendously. These were done for grey cups, winter classics, concerts ect. TFC didn't need 30,000 seats at all, yet we are looking at a 30,000 seat BMO. So attendance is really insignificant at this point unless BMO can't handle what TFC or the Argos are throwing at them by a large margin for a very long period of time.

jesus you guys can be frustrating...Hes saying this would make your blood boil if it was built in your community for a high school team. He's using it as an example for comparison "if you think that's bad imagine this"...my god do you people have to be such sticklers all the time

Both the McKinney and Allen stadiums are in the affluent northern suburbs of Dallas. School districts there (as in most of the US) tend to be small and money is rarely a problem for them - at least for some of them.

Correct, but I doubt they'll sink in additional millions to permanently expand BMO to, say, 40,000 simply for these one-offs or just to improve the look.

Unless as you say, attendance for TFC or the Argos takes off in a big way.

Adding significant numbers of seats at this point would probably be more of a hindrance than anything to both the Argos and TFC. Neither team is really at a point where it can consistently sell out a much larger venue.

I'm sure they'll enclose the north end as promised and add a marginal number of seats in the process, but that will be it for a very long time. The tenants would benefit from preserving at least some degree of scarcity... push capacity up to 40K and you're basically stuck with another Skydome-like environment where supply almost always exceeds demand.

In any case, you seem to have an issue with it based on your earlier post - even though you're not affected. And you seem to be taking issue with the whole country because of it (ie. "Murica!"). Is it jealousy because you never had that luxury?

In fairness I'd probably be upset if I actually lived in Texas. I'm sure there are inner city schools that could put the money to far greater use than building unnecessarily lavish sports facilities.

I'm not saying there isn't a wealth imbalance in Canada, but it is really breathtaking in the US. This is a pretty good example of it.

But yeah, being in Canada I don't really care. Let Texas build 10 more just like it, it'll give us some nice stadium porn for this thread.
