Montreal deepest Metro Station info:

The deepest station in the network is Charlevoix. It has stacked platforms, of which the lower (Honoré-Beaugrand) platform is 29,6 metres below ground level. However, its upper platform is 24,4 metres below ground level; both of Lucien-L'Allier's platforms are deeper than this, at 27,1 metres (as are the yellow line platforms at Berri-UQAM, at 27,4 metres).

Apparently the city has recalculated their projection and think they can make 9 Avenue Station in the realm of only 30 meters deep instead of 50 now. That would make its construction a lot more feasible, since it won't be a high ridership station.

$1B is not a lot of money. The Trudeau government has a $125B infrastructure plan.

Seems like anger is aimed equally at "Quebec and Ontario" nothing about jealously of Montreal. Greatest anger is against the PM though.

Whatever. Montreal needs this bad. The rest of the country has long forgotten about this city, about its history and about its lingering importance. I'm just happy we have a PM who is from here and who understands - and even is excited by a new transit plan.

Does Hamilton's system have mixed traffic sections (the second last rendering looks like it)? That's not going to go down well.

There are actually 2 lines to the Hamilton LRT - one short one that is really more of a streetcar on James North, and another that is more LRT like running east-west. That second last image shows the mixed traffic James North service, not the primary trunk line, which is entirely in its own ROW.

Good to see, 3 Ontario cities building LRT, and another 4 cities (if you count Brampton/Mississauga twice) planning theirs. Light Rail will definitely get those communities more engaged in Transit.
